‘Delivering operational excellence in Social Housing’

6 Nov 2024 | 08:45 - 11:15

Overview of this event

Social housing providers have targets for retrofitting older properties to improve quality and energy

efficiency standards, whilst also increasing the overall supply of affordable housing. Many providers

struggle to prioritise and deliver the operational excellence and standards at the volumes & consistency

required, while at the same time understanding the individual tenant needs and building trust across

communities.

To deliver on these requirements, there is a need for an approach that captures and executes on the diverse

requirements of key stakeholders in their ecosystem. This approach would simultaneously need to

incorporate the top-down macro trends & pressures (e.g. financing, policy, demand) to which social housing

providers must respond, as well as the bottom-up organisational contexts within which they operate.

The good news is that there are examples of initiatives to integrate the tenant voice, balance and align the

needs of other stakeholders, and deliver more social housing.

Outcomes

Participants will benefit from developing a shared and realistic view of the opportunities to meet the

needs of existing tenants and accelerate the need for high quality housing stock. At the same time,

approaches for integrating tenants into existing and new-build decision making will be highlighted; this will

ensure the focus is on desired outcomes rather than just the technologies or activities conducted.
